About the Trust

Empower, transform, build resilience

The Kobo Trust Foundation (TKT) is a non profit born of a simple desire: to empower, to transform and to build resilience. Through projects designed to improve the lives of its beneficiaries and the communities they come from, its work aims to sustainably eradicate poverty by growing resilient communities across East and Southern Africa.

Founded by Kobo Safaris in 2011, the Trust takes a holistic approach to the rehabilitation of young people from underprivileged communities. It teaches self acceptance and love of self while providing shelter, education, health care, life skills, exposure to arts and culture, and a lasting appreciation for the environment and the spirit of conservation.

The shelters create safe spaces where children and youth find themselves enveloped in learning, growth and psychosocial healing. Many arrived with their destinies diverted from hard certainties, where opportunities were far and few between. At the Trust, the stand is for the whole child: full support that not only makes a difference in their lives, but means their lives will make a difference to others.
